The planetary can be updated on certain TH48FT-E80Oil Field Transmissions to improve the service life and serviceabilityof the transmission. Transmission / Torque Converter Separate2. Gear Pump (Transmission / Torque Converter)Remove3. Transmission Planetary RemoveBegin the transmission planetary disassembly perthe published instructions from steps 1 through 10.Complete steps 12 and 13 to separate the oldcage assembly from the inner hub. Remove all loose parts so that the transmissioncan be flipped around and safely set on the input end of the transmissionper step 24 of the published procedure.Complete steps 24 through 27 to begin disassemblyof the output end of the transmission. Complete steps 29 through 33 aswell.Complete steps 35 and 36, replacing the hubwith the modified hub and replace the retaining ring 7X-2627.Install roll pins 3S-2708 into hub in 6 locationsuntil top of the pin flush to the top of the ring gear. These pins willprevent the retaining ring 7X-2627 from dislocating during operation.
Begin assembly of the remaining portion ofthe transmission output per the published instructions beginning with step46 through step 57 when the output end of the transmission is complete.Beginning with step 58 where the transmissionis rotated to have the input end up, begin assembly where disassembly stopped.Use new housing assembly 275-0690 for step66 and on as the bearing and retainer are installed. Proceed to 71 installingthe new ring gear 282-4960. In the new housing you will find a space forthe "bolt and go" speed sensor 201-6615. Complete the transmission planetaryassembly.Inside the transmission case, remove the existingspeed sensor bracket part number 265-6787 and discard.Install planetary into transmission case andjoin transmission and torque converter assemblies
