Rework Procedure A - Spring Pins Not Broken
All four of the 095-0891 Spring Pins in the second carrier must be removed and replaced by new, dual spring pins.
Disassemble the second carrier. Keep all parts together to avoid mismatching parts.

The four spring pin bores on the carrier need to be drilled to ensure the proper roundness. This is due to the caulking done during the assembly process. Drill each pin location. The correct spring pin hole diameter is 8 mm -0.08/+0.15.
Clean all parts thoroughly.

Partially install an outer pin (2) into one of the pin bores in one of the carriers using a hammer and a punch. Orient the slot in the outer pin in the 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock position as shown in Illustration 6.
Install an inner pin (3) inside the outer pin. Orient the slot in the inner pin 180 degrees away from the slot in the outer pin. Install the pin so that it is flush with the outer pin.
Install the gear, bearing, and shims into the carrier cavity with the pins. Install the shaft inside the gear and align the hole in the shaft with the pins.

Continue to hammer the pins through carrier (7) and shaft (6) until the pin depth is approximately 1 mm (0.04 in) below the surface of the carrier. No caulking is required.
Finish assembling the carrier.
Reassemble the swing drive. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly manual referenced above for instructions.
Refill the swing drive with the oil that was drained or add new oil.
Install the swing motor. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly manual referenced above for instructions.Rework Procedure B - Broken Spring Pins Found

Swing drive replacement parts
Disassemble the swing drive. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly manual referenced above for instructions. All parts in yellow in Illustration 8 must be replaced. Refer to Table 2 for the list of part numbers.New single spring pins need to be installed on the first carrier. On the second carrier, new dual spring pins will be installed.
