Torque converter case (1) has two functions: To transfer drive from torque converter (6) to the transmission input shaft via transfer gear (7) in torque converter case (1). Torque converter case (1) also drives transmission gear pump (4) and the implement, steering, pilot and braking pump.Torque converter (6) is connected to the engine flywheel by splines. The drive output goes through torque converter (6) to torque converter output shaft (8). Torque converter output shaft (8) is connected to transfer gear (7) by splines. Transfer gear (7) engages the transmission input gear.Pump drive gear (2) engages idler gear (5). Idler gear (5) engages gear (9) Pump drive flange (3) is fastened to gear (2). Oil lubrication of the torque converter case gears comes from two different sources:
The main lubrication oil supply comes from the transmission pump, through the transmission oil filter and into the torque converter case. This oil is directed to internal passages to supply oil to the bearings of the torque converter case gears and is also directed through orifices on to the meshing teeth of the gears.
