If replacing 2nd head group please allow 2 hr additional time.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Hold all 458-6023 Pump Head Group for 30 days for a possible Parts Return Request (PRR). Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork.
If a Parts Return Request (PRR) is not issued to you after 30 days through the Send-It-Back process, handle the parts in accordance with your warranty bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Replacing the Head group:
1. Install Tooling (A) onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply to Tooling (A). Apply 345 +/- 69 kPa (50 +/- 10 psi) of air. This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system. Refer to Image1.1.1 and 1.1.2.

2. Label the hoses before disconnecting. Disconnect the following hoses: Cross-sensing, NFC and Powershift, on the controller.

3. Loosen the four Allen screws of the regulator and remove the regulator. Pay attention to the gasket and locating pin. Refer to Image1.3.1.

5. Remove the existing lever and install the lever into the new head group. In order to hold the piston in position in the lever use petroleum jelly, then push the spring to insert the lever and ensure that the spring is positioned on the lever. Take care that feedback springs (5) are positioned properly onto the spring retainer of feedback (4). Refer to Image1.4.1.
Do not interchange the longer feedback lever on the rear pump with the shorter feedback lever of the front pump.

6. Install a new gasket. Ensure that it is thoroughly seated on the location pin.
7. Reposition the controller on the pump, ensure that the lever is inserted into the hole of the actuator piston pump. Then, move the control to the position opposite the mounting holes. Be careful not to damage the contact face on the pump. Refer to Image1.6.1.

8. Reinstall the Allen screws and tighten to a specified torque of 15.5 N.m. (11.43 ft. lbs). Refer to Image1.7.1.

9. Reconnect the hoses and check the routing. Refer to Image1.8.1.

10. The new head group is NOT pre-adjusted. Measure the original head group adjustment screws. Adjust the new head group setting screws to match. If the old head group has been re-adjusted, use diagram below to set new head group. Refer to Image1.9.1.
