To meet EPA regulations in 2017, a physical DEF quality sensor has been added to the engine. New software strategy was developed for the functionality of the DEF quality sensor.The new parameter used for the installation of this sensor is the "DEF Quality Sensor Installation Status".Note: Confirm that the engine is equipped with the DEF quality sensor before enabling the "DEF Quality" in Cat ET. When the DEF header gets below −40° C (−40° F), there have been cases of the 3516-12 Aftertreatment #1 DEF Concentration : Failure becoming active or logged.Resolution

Issue
Incorrect reading the DEF level at key On, if the DEF tank is drained.Resolution
After the ECM power-up, based on the raw sensor value and the virtual DEF level value, the system will determine if the tank is empty or not.DEF Injector De-Crystallization Regeneration Improvements
Issue
Hydrocarbon (HC) Evaporation type regeneration is not run at a high enough temperature.Resolution
