Rework Procedure
1. Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary. Ensure machine safety procedures are consulted before starting rework procedure.
2. Position and park machine on a firm flat surface.
3. Lower bulldozer blade onto blocks to support blade while relieving tension from pitch link assembly.
IMPORTANT Check to ensure pitch link is free of tension.
4. Image 1.1.1 denotes area of machine where rework will be performed. Remove circled top plate depicted in Image 1.1.2., for accessibility. See Image 1.1.3 for disassembly detail.
IMPORTANT Reference Image 1.1.4, for measuring locations. Take measurements before removing the pitch link from machine. Measure from center pin to center pin and note the distance as shown. Apply measurements before installation at Step 10.

5. Loosen and remove bolt (A), washer (B), pin retainer (C) and pin (D). Continue to loosen and remove bolt (E), washer (F), pin retainer (G) and pin (H) on the "C" frame side.
6. Pin retainers (C & G) and pins (D & H) are now removed from both sides, slide or pull pitch link starting on either side. See Image 1.3.1 for sleeve rework detail.
7. Position assembly on a firm flat work surface. Remove lock pins (I)(qty 2), rod (J) and rod eyes (K) (p/n 349-4062) and (L) (p/n 257-8476). Prepare rod eye (K) (p/n 349-4062), by cutting off the pin welded to the side and grinding the area smooth. Prepare sleeve (M) (p/n 318-4902), by cutting off the tube welded to it and grinding the area smooth. Arrows depicting grind locations are shown in Image 1.3.1. After completing grinding operations, rod eye (K) (p/n 349-4062) will be reassembled onto sleeve (M) (p/n 318-4902) at a later time. Rod eye (L) (p/n 257-8476), will not be reused.
IMPORTANT Before discarding rod eye (L) p/n 257-8476, remove the grease fitting and protective cap and reinstall on rod eye (N) p/n 381-1879.

8. Sleeve assembly (M) will be reworked to incorporate the new parts. See Image 1.4.1. A 13 +/- 0.5 millimeter hole must be drilled where marked, plugs will be removed and not reused. The hole must be bored entirely through both sides of sleeve. Deburr and clean around bore. Test fit the 9R-0189 Pin and 381-1883 Plate Assembly before proceeding with rework. Correct if necessary.
9. Install bearing (O) (p/n 8T-0333) into rod eye (N) (p/n 381-1879). Retain using retaining ring (P) (p/n 8T-9599). See images 1.4.1. & 1.4.2.
10. Reassemble existing rod eye (K) (p/n 349-4062) and new rod eye (N) (p/n 381-1879) to sleeve (M) (p/n 318-4902). Continue assembly by turning rod eyes in approximately 4-5 threads. See image 1.4.4. Adjust the new pitch link to the noted distance from Step 4. Be sure to measure at the
