Information:
Do not clean or reuse filters. Use new filters when servicing the cab filtration system. Reusing filters can cause serious health hazards.
When cleaning equipment, care should be taken to prevent high-pressure water or high-pressure air from entering the ejection slots of the filter. Failure to do so can damage the filter cartridge. When replacing the filter, do not point ejection slots at a solid surface near the slots. Debris will be ejected from these slots at a high rate.
Replace filter when the cab pressure does not exceed 100 Pa when cab is sealed and fan speed is set at 6. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Advanced Cab Filtration System"Machines with HEPA (H13) or MERV 16 particulate filter, change the filter after every 1000 service hours, even if the pressure monitor does not alert and there are no noticeable changes.Machine with Combination HEPA (H13)/ABEK1 rated gas filter, the site Health & Safety Officer is responsible for determining the fresh air filter change interval according to site-related variables.

(3) Air filter cartridge assembly
(4) Ejection slotThe cab fresh air filter assembly is on the outside of the cab.
Move the machine to a clean covered area to reduce air conditioning system exposure to harmful particles.
Stop the engine. Leave the engine start switch in the Off position.
Move the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls".
Remove any loose debris from air filter housing (1).
Inspect air filter housing (1) for any damage.
Loosen the air filter cover clamps (2).Note: Remember the orientation of the ejection slots (4), refer to Illustration 1.

(3) Air filter cartridge assembly
Remove air filter cartridge assembly (3) from filter housing (1).Note: To remove air filter cartridge assembly, place thumbs on exterior hardware of housing for additional leverage. Refer to Illustration 2.
Dispose of the used filter cartridge according to the local regulations.Note: Place used Combination HEPA (H13)/ABEK1 rated gas filter in a sealed bag.
Inspect inside air filter housing (1) and remove any loose debris using a suitable vacuum unit and clean rags.Note: Do not use compressed air to clean inside the air filter housing.
Start the engine and close the cab door. Stay clear of the open end of filter housing.
Ensure that air is blowing out of the empty filter housing cavity.
Open the cab door and stop the engine.
Install new air filter cartridge assembly (3) into filter housing (1). When installing, ensure that the grooves in filter aligns with the grooves in filter receiving ring and the ejection slot orientation is correct.Note: Do not open the replacement cab filter package until the filter is ready to be installed.
Illustration 3 g06209658Note: For ABEK1 rated Gas filter, install O-ring seal on end of filter element in groove and lubricate with grease in packet (included with filter).
Fasten clamps (2) to secure the filter cover onto filter housing (1). Ensure the air filter cover seats properly onto the filter housing.
