Place straight edge (1) on left main screed plate (2), along the outboard edge of the plate. Ensure that extender plate (3) is higher than the main screed plate. Perform this step for the inboard edge of the left main screed plate. If the extender plate is higher than the main screed plate, go to "Test Procedure". If the extender plate is not higher than the screed plate, go to the next step.

Use extender height cranks (4) to lift the extender above the main screed. Attempt to keep the inboard and outboard sides of the extender level. Set the trailing edge of the extender plate 5 1 mm (0.197 0.04 in) higher than the main screed plate. Go to "Test Procedure".Test Procedure

Illustration 5 g06168693Note: The leading edge of the extender plate is chamfered. The chamfer begins approximately 20 mm (0.8 in) from the leading edge of the plate. Dimension (B) must be measured at the start of the chamfer.
Place straight edge (1) on left main screed plate (2), along the outboard edge of the plate. Ensure that the straight edge extends beyond rear of extender plate (3).
Record the distance between the bottom of the main screed plate and the trailing edge of extender plate as dimension (A). Measure the distance between the bottom of the main screed plate and the chamfer along the leading edge of the extender plate. Record this measurement as dimension (B). Subtract dimension (A) from dimension (B). Record this result as dimension (C).
If dimension (C) is inside the range given in "Specifications" Table 1, go to the next step. If dimension (C) is outside the range given in "Specifications" Table 1, go to "Adjustment Procedure" "Extender Angle of Attack Adjustment".

Record the distance between the bottom of the main screed plate and the trailing edge of extender plate as dimension (A). Measure the distance between the bottom of the main screed plate and the chamfer along the leading edge of the extender plate. Record this measurement as dimension (B). Subtract dimension (A) from dimension (B). Record this result as dimension (C).
If dimension (C) is inside the range given in "Specifications" Table 1, go to the next step. If dimension (C) is outside the range given in "Specifications" Table 1, go to "Adjustment Procedure" "Extender Angle of Attack Adjustment".
If dimensions (A) recorded in Step 2 and in Step 5 are inside the range given in the specifications section, the angle of attack is correct. If dimension (A) recorded either in Step 2 or in Step 5 is outside the range given in the"Specifications" Table 1, adjust extender height. Go to "Extender Height Adjustment" in "Adjustment Procedure" "Extender Height Adjustment".Adjustment Procedure
