Information:
start by:a) remove the steering knucklesb) remove leaning wheel linkagec) remove tie rods 1. Remove bolt (1) that holds the shaft in position in the frame and axle. 2. Fasten a hoist to the front axle. A jack is needed for stability when the front axle is removed. Remove shaft (3) from the axle. Some machines can have a washer (2) between radius rod and bolster. The washer is used to keep the correct clearance and must have identification for correct installation. 3. Remove the front axle from the machine. The weight is 150 lb. (68 kg). 4. Remove the bearings from the axle with tooling (A). Install Front Axle
1. Install the two bearings in front axle (1) with tooling (A). 2. Put the front axle in position on the machine.3. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on shaft (3) and washer (2). Install the shaft and washer in place in the front axle and frame. 4. Install the bolt that holds the shaft in place. Make sure there is a minimum clearance of .06 (1.52 mm) at location (X) between the frame and the front axle. Add or remove washers (2) as needed. 5.
