Walk-Around Inspection
For safety of the operator and maximum service life of the backhoe, a thorough walk-around inspection should be made before mounting the machine to start the engine. Inspect around and under the machine for such items as loose or missing bolts, trash buildup, oil or coolant leaks and condition of the bucket. 1. Operator's CompartmentInspect for cleanliness, broken or inoperative gauge. 2. Hydraulic SystemInspect for leaks.Inspect exposed lines for damage. 3. Covers and GuardsInspect for damage.Be sure they are firmly in place. 4. BucketInspect for damage or excessive wear.
Check the hydraulic oil level with the bucket on the ground, stick vertical, and stabilizers lowered.
5. Observe machine hydraulic tank oil level. Oil level should be 3/4 of the way up from the bottom of the sight gauge. 6. Move all controls to HOLD. Apply parking brake, and all other safety equipment to ensure that when the vehicle is started there will not be any danger of any equipment moving. 7. Follow all "Before Starting," "Starting the Engine" and "After Starting" instructions in the machine "Operation" Guide.Seat Adjustment
Pull the fore-aft lever away from the seat. Position the seat forward or backward to allow full lever travel when operator's back is against seat back. Release the lever. Slide the seat back cushion forward and backward, depending if the machine or the backhoe is to be used.
