RETAINER 2817190 - Caterpillar

Mount Instruction Plate (15) and Disconnect Switch Gp (3) on mounting bracket using Nut (E) . Torque nut to 25 3 N m (221.3 26.6 lb in). Install Edge Trim (3) on lower edge of bracket, centered between holes. Refer to Illustration 3.Note: Nut (6) is included with switch.

Install Ground Cable As (13).
Fasten Terminal As (F) to battery ground stud using torque of 7.2 1.6 N m (63.7 14.2 lb in) and route cable along left tower sheet.
Using a Cable Strap (9), secure cable to battery bracket or ladder clip.
Fasten Ring Terminal (G) to outermost stud on disconnect switch using nut that comes with disconnect switch and torque of 18.5 1.5 N m (163.7 13.3 lb in).

Install Ground Cable As (12).
Fasten Ring Terminal (14) on innermost stud on battery disconnect switch using nut that comes with disconnect switch and torque of 18.5 1.5 N m (163.7 13.3 lb in).
Route cable forward of the negative cable that connects battery stud to disconnect switch.
Fasten Ring Terminal (J) to frame ground stud using existing hardware and torque of 30 7 N m (265.5 62 lb in).Note: Complete this step after cable from starter ground has been routed.

Fasten one side of cable to the starter ground with the terminal oriented downward (N).
Route cable along ladder clips toward rear of machine using Grommet (4) and Cable Strap (9).
Loop cable around rear of battery and secure other terminal to frame ground stud. Refer to Illustrations 9 and 10.

Route Platform Harness breakout to rear wall next to disconnect switch. Secure harness to mounting bracket using Cable Strap (10) and mounting holes. Refer to Illustration 11.Reference
