Installation And Modification Instructions
1. Remove the former cover and the studs, if studs are used.2. Install the new studs, if used.3. Install the new cover and seal using enough nuts or bolts to hold the cover securely.4. Use a center punch to mark the three holes to be drilled and tapped in the planet carrier.5. Remove the cover and seal. Use a 11.0 mm (.43") diameter drill to make a hole 32.0 mm (1.26") deep. DO NOT DRILL TOO DEEP. Drilling too deep may break through the planet carrier and cause leaks.6. Use a 1/2" -13 tap to tap the three holes 22.0 mm (.87") deep.7. Clean the tapped holes. Install the cover, seal, washers and studs or bolts.Special Instruction Form SEHS8551 has complete instructions for machining the planet carrier to accept the new cover.
