Remove the clean gas induction cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Gas Induction Cooler - Remove and Install".Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove oil filters (4). Disconnect hose assembly (1), and tube assembly (2). Remove elbow assembly (3) .

Remove tube assembly (5) .

Disconnect hoses (6). Remove elbow (7) .

Remove bolts (8). Remove engine oil filter base and oil cooler (9) .

Remove the seals, bolts (10), and engine oil cooler (11) from oil filter base (12) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
If necessary, remove plugs (13), springs (14), and valves (15) .
