Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.
Use a 185-3630 Strap Wrench As in order to remove the fuel filter. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System Primary Filter (Water Separator) Element - Replace".
Disconnect the hose assemblies that carry fuel to and from the fuel filter base. Disconnect harness assemblies and remove the connecting hardware.
Remove the bolts that secure the existing filter base and remove the filter base.
Remove the parts listed in Table 5 from the fuel filter base being removed.
Install the reused parts from Table 5 and the new parts listed in Table 6 onto the 434-3158 Fuel Priming Pump and Primary Filter Gp . The parts locations are shown in Illustrations 4 and 5.Oil Filler Tube Conversion

Remove the parts listed in Table 7 when the existing oil filler group is removed.
Install the reused parts from Table 7 and the new parts listed in Table 8 in the locations shown in Illustration 6.
