Be sure to remove all paint from the areas that are to be welded. Use E7018 Electrode or an equivalent for the welding in this procedure.1. Fabricate a plate from mild steel as shown in Illustration 2.
Illustration 2. Dimensions for fabricated plate.2. Weld the fabricated plate (from Step 1) in position under the engine support on the right front side of the bowl assembly as shown in Illustrations 3, 4 and 5.

Install the components of the 8W1462 Drive Shaft Guard Group around the drive shaft and bolt the 8W1459 Plate to the guard group as shown in Illustration 1.4. Put the guard group and plate assembly in position on the fabricated plate. Be sure the drive shaft is centered in the guard group. Weld the 8W1459 Plate to the fabricated plate as shown in Illustrations 4 and 5.
