Removal Procedure
Note: Put identification marks on all harness assemblies for installation purposes.
Personal injury may occur from failure to properly service the batteries.Batteries give off flammable fumes that can explode. Electrolyte is an acid and can cause personal injury if it contacts the skin or eyes.Prevent sparks near the batteries. Sparks could cause vapors to explode. Do not allow jumper cable ends to contact each other or the engine. Improper jumper cable connections can cause an explosion.Always wear protective glasses when working with batteries.

Remove cover assembly (1). Open access panel (2).
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position in order to disconnect the battery.

Remove lockout cover assembly (3).

Disconnect cable assembly (4) and cable assembly (7). Disconnect cable assembly (5) and cable assembly (6).
Remove bolt (9). Remove disconnect switch (8). Installation Procedure

Position disconnect switch (8). Install bolt (9).
Connect cable assembly (6) and cable assembly (5). Tighten each bolt for each of the cable assemblies to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).
Connect cable assembly (7) and cable assembly (4). Tighten the bolt for cable assembly (4) to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).

Install lockout cover assembly (3).
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position in order to reconnect the battery.

Install cover assembly (1). Close access panel (2).
