3512 (24Z, 67Z) Generator Set EnginesDescription of Change: Two new seals are used in the exhaust manifold group on these engines. One new seal goes between the exhaust manifold sections and one new seal goes between the exhaust manifold and cylinder head. These new seals use a spring energized "C-ring" design. The new seals have increased plating thickness, compared to the former seals. This increased plating thickness provides improved sealing with the mating surface. The new plating also results in increased yield strength at elevated temperatures.Adaptable To: The new 167-9526 Seal and new 167-9527 Seal are direct replacements for the 7E-4108 Seal-Ring and 7E-8486 Seal-Ring respectively in the exhaust manifold groups and engines identified in Chart A. Chart B lists the engine effectivity of the new seals.
