2. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) at swing actuator (4). Put caps for protection in the line openings and swing actuator openings.3. Remove nuts (2) and (5) and remove pin (6). Pin (6) is a taper fit in swing actuator (4) at nut (5). Also it has a taper sleeve which can be removed at nut (2). Use tooling (A) to remove pin (6) toward nut (2).4. Remove the top rear bolt from swing actuator (4) and fasten tooling (B) and a hoist. Use six 5P8248 Washers (three on each side of the bracket) and a 1D4608 Bolt.Install Swing Actuator
1. Remove the top rear bolt from swing actuator (2). Fasten tooling (B) and a hoist. Use six 5P8248 Washers (three on each side of the bracket) and a 1D4608 Bolt.2. Put plate (1) in position on swing actuator shaft. Make sure the "V" mark on plate (1) and actuator shaft are in alignment.5. Put marks of identification on plates (7) and (8). Do not mix the plates.6. Disconnect plates (7) and (8) from swing frame.
As swing actuator (4) is clear of swing frame (3), plate (8) and the washer will fall off the swing actuator shaft.
7. Move swing actuator away from swing frame (3). The weight of swing actuator (4) is 98 kg (215 lb.).3. Put swing actuator (2) to the left of its installed position and put washer (5) and plate (4) on the actuator shaft. Install washer (5) with the inside chamfer to be up. Make sure the "V" marks on plate (4) and the actuator shaft are in alignment.4. Put swing actuator (2) in position on swing frame (3) and install the bolts through caps (1) and (4). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 475 50 N m (350 37 lb.ft.). 5. Put pin (7) in position, install washer and nut on bottom and tighten nut.6. Install sleeve (6). Install washer and nut and tighten nut. 7. Remove the protective plugs and connect two hose assemblies (8) to swing actuator (3).8. Move the machine to an area that will permit complete range of swing travel. Carefully operate the backhoe through several complete cycles. Check the hydraulic oil level. start by:a) remove swing actuator Put swing actuator (1) on tooling (A) to hold the actuator so the end plate bolts can be loosened. Loosen but do not remove the bolts at this time. 1. Put the swing actuator (1) on wood blocks as shown.2. Remove the two plugs from the bottom plate of the swing actuator. Remove caps (3) and permit the swing actuator to drain.3. Remove twelve bolts (2). 4. Put a 1/4 in. × 5/8 in. diameter steel plug in each threaded hole in top plate (5). Install two 1D4608 Bolts (4).5. Turn the two bolts (4) down evenly to remove top plate (5).6. Give protection to the machined surfaces of top plate (5). 7. Install a 3/8" × 16 NC forged eyebolt in swing actuator
