Information:
Reference: For information on Systems Operation of the above, see the following: Systems Operation, Eletronic Controller, SENR 4880.Systems Operation, Hydraulic System, SENR 4881.This manual is divided into three main sections: TroubleshootingElectronics T & AHydraulic T & ATroubleshooting gives a detailed, logical sequence of preparations, checks, possible causes and solutions for thirteen problems (A through M).Electronics and Hydraulics testing and adjusting (T & A) sections are provided for the person who is more familiar with the combined operation of the electronics and hydraulics. This person is more interested in a particular testing procedure. As a general rule, if there is doubt as to the cause of a problem, the electronic system should be checked first. This manual contains information on the troubleshooting of the electronic power unit control and hydraulic systems in the E300B, EL300B. For troubleshooting the engine components, refer to the engine modules in the E300B, EL300B service manual, Form No. SENRTroubleshooting Procedure
Power Controller Self Diagnostic Checks (LED Checks)
On the top of the controller, nine self diagnostic LEDs are provided. If a problem occurs, check the LEDs that are ON. Next, compare this display to the markings on the sticker provided on the reverse side of the cover of the controller. The controller is provided with hold functions for the three major LED displays. The LED with the hold function will continue to light until the necessary action is taken even after the problem has been corrected. Then either the fault, or circuit(s) of the electronic power unit control system that are defective can be found. To alert the operator, a problem in the controller unit can be monitored by a LAMP/BUZZER located on the monitor panel. This is in addition to the LED displays. When the monitor panel sets off alarms or when the operator feels that the operating force and speed common to all operations is insufficient, the first course of action must be to check the LED display.Operational Tests
If the electronic power unit control system display indicates it is okay, then do operational tests. Operate the machine, following the procedures described in the section Hydraulic System Testing And Adjusting. Compare the results of the operational tests with specifications to determine the extent of the trouble. What is important in this step is to determine whether an insufficient force or speed is a problem that extends over the entire machine or a problem associated with only a specific operation.Checking Hydraulic System
If there are any faults in circuits between the main or pilot pump, and the control valves, the overall performance of the machine will decrease. This type of problem in the hydraulic system, is not indicated by the self diagnostic functions of the power controller described above. For detection of such a problem, therefore, it is necessary to check the flow characteristics of the pumps, the main relief pressure, pilot relief pressure, etc.Sequence Charts
Problems are listed in sequence charts shown on the following pages. They can be conveniently used for troubleshooting the electronic power unit control and hydraulic systems.
