Remove the drum. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drum - Remove".
Drain the oil from the final drive planetary into a suitable container. The capacity of the final drive planetary is 3.2 L (0.8 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive Planetary (Drum) Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to plate (1), as shown.
Remove bolts (2) and remove plate (1), the mounting plate, the drum propel motor and the final drive planetary from the mounts. The weight of the plate, the mounting plate, the propel motor and the final drive planetary as a unit is approximately 360 kg (795 lb).

Remove bolts (4) and remove drum propel motor (3) and the O-ring seal from final drive planetary (5). Place a suitable cover over the final drive planetary in order to prevent contamination.

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to mounting plate (7). Remove bolts (6) and remove mounting plate (7) from final drive planetary (5). The weight of the mounting plate is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).

Use a suitable lifting device to position plate (1) and final drive planetary (5), as shown.
Remove bolts (8). Attach a suitable lifting device to plate (1). Remove plate (1) from final drive planetary (5). The weight of the plate is approximately 93 kg (205 lb). The weight of the final drive planetary is approximately 186 kg (410 lb).
