Introduction
The 7C-6930 Float Switch operation can be changed from normally actuated (closed), to normally de-actuated (open) if desired. When the float is in fluid the reed switch will be de-actuated. When the float is out of the fluid, the reed switch is actuated. Reversing the float will cause it to be normally (open).Adjustment Procedure
The switch assembly is to be mounted vertically. The switch will function with the wires pointing up or down. As the float moves up or down in the fluid media, it actuates a reed switch inside the steel tubing.The 7C-6930 Switch can be installed with the "closed" end of the float pointing toward the "snap clip". If the wires are pointing up, the reed switch will be actuated (closed) when the float is out of the fluid. When the float is in fluid, the reed switch will be de-actuated (open). This switch is normally closed because the float is out of the fluid, and therefore actuated.The procedure for changing the direction of the switch function from normally closed to normally open is as follows:1. Remove the "snap clip".2. Pull off the float.3. Reverse the direction of the float so that the open end is pointing towards the "snap clip" and the wires are pointing down.4. Reinstall the float onto the steel tube.5. Replace the "snap clip".Now the switch function will be normally open because the reed switch will be actuated when the float is in the fluid.
