Tilt 12.70 mm (0.5 inch) open-end wrench (T3) towards the base of the part to loosen plastic sleeve (D), and sliding it up shaft (E) as shown in Illustration 6.Remove and discard plastic sleeve (D) using hands or pliers.
Remove and discard boot (F).

Install new boot (3).
Install new plastic sleeve (2) with the keying features towards the top of shaft (E).Note: If installed in the opposite orientation, plastic sleeve will not fully sit on shaft (E).
Apply Loctite 603 to the threads of knob (1).
Hand tighten knob (1). Ensure that knob (1) pushes new plastic sleeve (2) until it is in contact with the bottom stop on shaft (E) inside new boot (3).Ensure that the single axis lever is positioned upside down until the Loctite cures to prevent the Loctite from flowing to the shaft (E) and new plastic sleeve (2). Refer Illustration 8.Note: Ensure minimum 1 hour to maximum of 24 hours curing time for 20% Loctite strength. The Loctite application should be at room temperature and should not go lower than 5° C (41° F).
