The oil does show signs of contamination.An oil level that is higher than the level/fill line may indicate condensation of vapor. This situation requires the oil to be changed. A dark-colored oil indicates that the oil has been contaminated. This situation requires the oil to be changed.A low level indicates that oil should be added to the pump. 190-8487 Vacuum Pump Oil is available from your Caterpillar Dealer.Regardless, the vacuum pump oil should always be drained, and filled with new oil, under the following conditions:
Once every year.
When the oil appears contaminated (yellowish or brown).
when the Vacuum pump will be stored for more than 30 days.Note: Always contact your Caterpillar Dealer Service provider when there is need to change the oil in the vacuum pump.
