Assembly Procedure
Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.
Use appropriate chains and a hoist in order to move the position of the parking brake assembly. The weight of the parking brake assembly is 50 kg (110 lb).

Install new brake pads (5) to brake cage (4) and parking brake assembly (3). Retaining plate (1) secures brake pads (5) in brake cage (4) .

Position retaining plate (1) to parking brake assembly (3) in order to secure the brake pads in parking brake assembly (3). Install three bolts (2) and the washers that secure retaining plate (1) to parking brake assembly (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 241 41 N m (178 30 lb ft).End By: Install the parking brake.
