Information:

The following are actions to be taken when an error is found during operation of the pump assembly.* Carefully judge the nature of the error before work is started. Locate the cause deciding whether the error is caused by a defect or trouble in circuits, regulator or valve. Again, check whether the cause is actually in the pump assembly.* Read servicing instructions carefully and follow the correct procedure for disassembly.* Use care to prevent entry of dust or dirt, even if disassembly is made only partially.* Handle precision-built parts with care and use care to prevent damage to them.(1) Pump-body assembly The pump is fitted with regulator, valve, and pump in most cases. Therefore, it is very difficult to find cause of trouble. Check the following points accordingly.1. Check filter and drained oil Check filter element for excessive impurities. Usually a small amount of metal particles are seen, because shoe and cylinder cause abrasion particles. If excessive metal particles are seen in filter, shoe may be defective. Also check drained oil in pump casing for impurities.2. Checking of unusual noise or vibration Check the pump assembly for unusual noise or vibration.Check to ensure that sounds are of regular frequency, such as regulator hunting or valve relief hunting. When unusual noise or vibration is found, cavitation or damage in the pump may exist.3. When two pumps are used With circuits using two single pumps or a double pump, change piping for respective pumps to find out whether it is the pump or the circuit that is defective.4. Measure pressure in all parts. This is applicable to regulator assembly also. When the trouble is on the control side, do not open or check unnecessarily. Measure all pressures to investigate faulty locations.(2) Regulator assembly Regulator and pump body assembly are finely adjusted. Do not remove regulator from pump body assembly except when necessary. Remove the cover for inspection. When it is removed, mark the pump casing and regulator casing before removal to ensure correct reassembly. There are many internal parts of similar shape and small size. Never mistake them during disassembly. Use care to return them to their original positions.1 Engine overload2 Maximum flow not enough3 Extremely little flow4 Cut-off control does not work preventing reduction of flow5 Abnormal noise and vibration and hydraulic oil cloudiness6 Abnormal noise and vibration7 Oil leakage from oil seal8 Oil leakage from mating surface Separate table 1 Separate table 2 Separate table 3 Separate table 4 (1) Lapping and cleaning of regulator sliding section. 1.
