Note: Tooling is only required for option two.Inspect the articulated hitch for noticeable movement. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8211, "Articulated Hitch Bearings - Inspect".If noticeable movement in the articulated hitch is present, there are two options to rework the bores in the upper hitch plates. Refer to option one in order to machine the bores in the upper hitch plates. Refer to option two in order to install 426-3200 Bearing Sleeve .Option 1: Procedure to Rebore the Upper Hitch Plates
Separate the front frame from the rear frame. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR6271, "Front Frame from Rear Frame - Separate".

Thoroughly clean bore (1), bore (2) and the surrounding areas indicated in Illustration 1.
Machine bore (1) to 123.6 mm (4.87 inch).
Machine bore (2) to 92.9 mm (3.66 inch).

Typical radial welds around the bore
Illustration 3 g03275839
Typical welds across the bore (B) No inclusions
Build up each bore by applying overlapping welds to the thickness required in one layer.Note: Radial welds around the bore is the preferred method of repair. Weld across the bore if there are access restrictions to the bore. Refer to Illustration 2 and Illustration 3.Note: Use a NiCrMo wire which conforms to AWS A5.28 ER110S-G.
Finish welding by applying two welds around each end of each bore and cover immediately to ensure slow cooling. Ensure that the weld thickness is adequate to be machined without any sign of individual welds.
Machine bore (1) to 120.62 + 0.03 - 0.00mm (4.748 + 0.001 - 0.000inch). Refer to Service Manual, RENR8594, "Rear Frame"
Machine bore (2) to 89.94 + 0.00 - 0.03mm (3.54 + 0.000 - 0.001inch). Refer to Service Manual, RENR8594, "Rear Frame"Note: Ensure the correct alignment of the machined bores.
