VISUALLY INSPECT THE ANTENNA FOR DAMAGE
Visually inspect the antenna for damage.Expected result.The antenna is OK.Results.YES - The antenna is OK. Proceed to Test Step 6.NO - The antenna is damaged.Repair. Replace the antenna. Verify that the torque limiting control operates correctly.STOP.
VERIFY THAT THE CENTER CONDUCTOR OF THE ANTENNA HAS NOT SHORTED TO THE SHIELD
Disconnect the antenna connector from the torque limiting control.
Measure the resistance from the shield of the antenna cable to the conductor at the center of the cable. The shield is the threaded part of the connector.Expected result.The resistance is 1 to 10 megaohms, or an open circuit.Results.YES - The resistance is 1 to 10 megaohms, or an open circuit. The resistance is correct. Proceed to Test Step 7.NO - The resistance is less than 300 ohms. The resistance is incorrect.Repair. The antenna cable has a short from the center conductor to the outer shield. Replace the antenna cable. Verify that the torque limiting control is operating correctly.STOP.
VERIFY THE WIRING OF THE ANTENNA
Remove the antenna cable connector from the torque limiting control and remove the antenna from the antenna base.
Measure the resistance from the conductor at the center of the antenna cable to the thread of the antenna mount.Expected result.The resistance should be less than 5 ohms.Results.YES - The resistance is less than 5 ohms.Repair. Install the antenna, verify that all of the connections are tight. If the problem persists, replace the torque limiting control. Refer to Test Step 15.NO - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms.Repair. Replace the antenna cable and install the antenna. Verify that the torque limiting control operates correctly.STOP.

CHECK THE GROUND CIRCUIT OF THE TORQUE LIMITING CONTROL
Turn the key start switch and the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the harness connector from the torque limiting control.
At the torque limiting harness connector measure the resistance from connector contact 12 to frame ground.Expected results. The resistance is less than 5 ohms.Results.YES - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 9.NO - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The machine harness has failed. There is a fault in wire 209-BK.Repair. Repair or replace wire 209-BK.STOP.
CHECK +BATTERY SUPPLY
The harness connector for the torque limiting control remains disconnected.
Turn the battery disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
At the harness connector for the torque limiting control measure the voltage from connector contact 1 to connector contact 12.Expected results.The voltage should be +24 V.Results.YES - The voltage is +24 V. The machine harness is correct. Inspect the contacts of the harness connectors and clean the harness connectors. Reconnect the harness connectors. Verify that the torque limiting control system operates correctly.NO - The voltage is below +24 V. Proceed to Test Step 10.
CHECK +BATTERY SUPPLY
The harness connector for the torque limiting control remains disconnected.
Disconnect the harness connector from the warning lamp panel.
The battery disconnect switch and the key start switch remain in the ON position.
