Use Tooling (D) in order to install retaining ring (17) .

Raise the temperature of washer (16a) to 135 °C (275 °F).
Install washer (16a) onto shaft (16). Make sure that the slots on the washer are facing upward.

Install the center shaft (16) to carrier assembly (10) .

Assemble gear assembly (12), as follows.Note: Put a rubber band around the bearing rollers as you install the bearing.
Install bearing (15) into gear assembly (12) .
Install two rings (14) on each side of bearing (15) .

Use Tooling (C) to install two retaining rings (13) on each side of rings (14) .

Raise the temperature of three planetary gear assemblies (12) to 135 °C (275 °F).
Install three planetary gear assemblies (12) onto the carrier.
Use Tooling (B) to install retaining ring (11) for three planetary gear assemblies.

Install carrier assembly (10) .

Install a new spacer (Not Shown) in cover (8). Fasten Tooling (N) and a suitable lifting device to cover (8). The weight of cover (8) is approximately 39 kg (85 lb).

Install cover (8). Install bolts (7) and the washers that hold cover (8) in place.

Attach a suitable lifting device to the final drive sprocket (6). Install final drive sprocket (6). The weight of the final drive sprocket is approximately 91 kg (200 lb).
Apply Tooling (K) to sprocket bolts (5). Install sprocket bolts (5) to final drive sprocket (6). Torque the bolts to 900 100 N m (665 75 lb ft).

Install O-ring seal (3) to the travel motor.

Attach a suitable lifting device to travel motor (1). Install travel motor (1). The weight of travel motor (1) is approximately 54 kg (120 lb).

Install bolts (2) that mount travel motor (1). Tighten bolts (2) to 510 20 N m (376 15 lb ft).
Fill the final drive with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the proper oil viscosity.
