Install cover (28) in the original position in the main pump housing.
Use Tooling (C) in order to install retaining ring (27) . The retaining ring holds cover (28) in position in the pump housing.

Install two O-ring seals (19) on pilot pump (18) .

Position pilot pump (18) in the main pump housing.
Install four bolts (17) that hold the pilot pump in position.
Turn over the main pump housing.

Install two rings (16) on each piston (15) .

Install 14 pistons (14) in the original locations in the pump rotating groups.

Install retaining plates (55) and install centering pins (56) in the original positions over pistons (57) . Make sure that the screw holes in the retaining plates are aligned with the screw holes in the pump rotating groups.

Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of 14 socket head screws (11) .
Install the 14 socket head screws in order to hold retaining plates (12) to the pump rotating groups. Tighten the socket head screws evenly.
Install gasket (10) .

Note: Bevel spring washers (9) are not flat.
Install spacer (8) and four bevel spring washers (9) in each cylinder (7) . Install the bevel spring washers so that the maximum amount of height is provided.

Install two cylinders (7) in the original locations on the pump rotating groups.

Reinstall two dowels (5) in the main pump housing, as shown.
Reinstall two port plates (6) in the original positions on cylinders (51) .

Attach Tooling (B) to the head group, as shown. Use a hoist in order to place the head group in position on the main hydraulic pump.

Install 12 socket head bolts (3) that hold the head group to the main hydraulic pump.

Install the O-ring seal and plate (2) on the main housing. Install the socket head bolts. The socket head bolts hold the plate in position.
Make sure that drain plug (1) is tight.Note: Bench test the pump. Refer to Special Instruction, NEHT5000, "Bench Testing Hydraulic Components" for the correct procedure to bench test the main hydraulic pump.End By: Install the main hydraulic pump and the pump drive coupling. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Hydraulic Pump and Pump Drive Coupling - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
