Oil that is hot or under pressure can cause personal injury. To prevent personal injury, let the oil become cool before the oil is drained or oil lines disconnected. Loosen oil lines slowly to release any pressure in the oil lines.
1. Remove the oil from the hydraulic tank.2. Put identification on all oil lines as to their location on the control valve. Disconnect oil lines (1) and (2) from the rear of the control valve.3. Disconnect the oil lines from the front of the control valve. 4. Remove the cotter pins and pins (4). Move rod assemblies (3) free of the control valve.5. Fasten a hoist to the control valves. On machines equipped with cab it will be necessary to use two men to remove the control valve.6. Remove bolts (5) and (6) that hold the control valve to the frame. Remove control valves (7). Weight is 82 lb. (37 kg).Install Control Valves
1. Fasten a hoist to control valve (2). Put it in position on the frame. Install the bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 40 5 lb.ft. (54 7 N m). On machines equipped with a cab it will be necessary to use two men to install the control valve. Weight is approximately 82 lb. (37 kg).2. Put rod assemblies (1) in position on the control valve. Install the pins that hold them. Install the cotter pins in the pins. 3. Connect the oil lines to their correct location on the front of the control valve.4. Connect oil lines (3) and (4) to their correct location on the rear of the control valve.5. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to its correct level.Disassemble Control Valves
START BY:a) remove control valves 1. Loosen bolts (6). Remove manifold (5) and valve body (7).2. Remove bolts (3). Remove lever (4) from the body.3. Remove bolts (2) and lock (1) from the valve. Remove the plug that is under the lock. 4. Remove stem (11) from body (7). Remove retainer (8), spring (10) and retainer (9) from stem (11). 5. Remove plug (15), spring (13) and ball (12) from body (7). Remove seat (14) from the body. 6. Remove plug (17). Make sure the shims and spacers (18) do not fall from plug (17). Remove spring (19) from the body.7. Remove the bolts and cover (20) from body (7).8. Remove sleeve (16) and spool (21) from the body.9. Do Steps 2 through 8 for the other valves.Assemble Control Valves
1. Inspect the O-ring seals. Replace the O-ring seals if necessary.2. Put sleeve (2) in position in body (1). Put spool (8) in position in body (1).3. Put cover (3) in position on body (1). Install the bolts that hold the cover to the body.4. Install spring (7) and plug (6) with the necessary shims and spacers. See VALVE FOR FLOW CONTROL in TESTING AND ADJUSTING. Tighten plug (6) to a torque of 35 5 lb.ft. (47 7 N m).5. Clean the screen in seat
