Door Bumper Bracket Procedure
1. Inspect the bumper bracket for the door (mounted on the cab)(Image 1.2.1). Check to see that it is making contact with the door frame and not the glass.
2. If it is not making contact with the door frame, bend it so that it makes contact.
3. Inspect to see if there are gussets on the bracket.
4. If no gussets are present, make two gussets out of steel to the dimensions in Image 1.2.2. Use ASTM A36 or A370 steel or SAE grades 1008 through 1025 steel. (Dimensions are in millimeters.)
5. Weld the gussets to the bracket according to Image 1.2.3.
6. Adjust the bumper so it is compressed by the door and the door does not rattle when latched. Ensure there are three to four threads between the rubber and the jam nut and tighten to a torque of 28 +/-7 Nm (20 +/- 5 lbf).
