PROBLEM
The existing 2007929/">200-7929 and 2007930/">200-7930 Final Drive Castings used on certain 12H, 140H, and 160H Motor Graders may crack due to incorrect material characteristics. If this occurs, damage to the Tandem Housing and Final Drive may occur.
These failures are limited to only the XZJ, XZH, and XZK serial number prefixes.

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to inspection process depicted in Special Instruction REHS4217-00. As indicated in the Special Instruction, contact Pak Li (li_pak @ cat.com) to order the Scope and Camera required for the inspection. You will be given 1 hour labor to prep, inspect and re-paint both sides of the 2007929/">200-7929 and 2007930/">200-7930 Final Drive Housings. Once inspected, send pictures, along with Serial Number to li_pak @ cat.com. After internal examination at CPPX, they will contact you if any additional repairs are necessary. In the event that replacement is necessary, we will provide up to 8 hours per side for these repairs. For repairs, please refer to the Disassembly and Assembly instructions in SENR8539-07.
