Cool the bearing cups from two 236-8151 Tapered Roller Bearing As to a temperature of -50° 5°C (-58.0° 9.0°F).
Drive bearing cup (1) of the lower bearing into the housing. Ensure that the bearing cup contacts the housing.
Pack the two bearing cones with 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease. Install one bearing cone (2) on the bearing cup (1). Install bearing cup (3) on top of bearing cone (2). Drive the bearing cup (3) downward until the bearing cup contacts the bearing cone.
Install the bearing cup (4). Drive the bearing cup (4) downward until the bearing cup touches the bearing cup (3). Install bearing cone (5) on top of bearing cup (4). Install bearing cup (6) on top of the bearing cone (5). Drive bearing cup (6) downward until the bearing cup contacts bearing cone (5) .Note: Bearing cup (4) and bearing cup (3) are the same parts. Bearing cup (1) and bearing cup (6) are the same parts.
Install 2.0 mm (0.08 inch) of 6K-2701 Shim Pack (7) onto the housing. Place 236-4338 Cap (8) onto the shims. Make sure that the lubrication port on the cap points to the right side of the machine. Use three 8T-4956 Bolts (9) and three 8T-4223 Hard Washers (10) in order to fasten the cap in position.
Install drive plate (A) on top of cup (6). Install drive plate (B) below cup (1). Install one hard washer (E) on bolt (C). Insert bolt (C) through drive plate (A) and drive plate (B). Install one hard washer (E) and nut (D) onto bolt (C). Tighten the nut on the bolt until the nut is snug. Use torque wrench gp (F) in order to check the rolling torque. The rolling torque should be 6.5 3.5 N m (58.00 31.00 lb in).Add shims or remove shims in the 6K-2701 Shim Pack (7) in order to obtain the proper rolling torque.
When the proper rolling torque is obtained, install the three remaining 8T-4956 Bolts (9) and the three 8T-4223 Hard Washers (10) to the 236-4338 Cap (8) .
Lubricate the lips of the lip seals (11) with 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease. Install the upper seal and install the lower seal in the positions that are shown.Installation of the Upper Hitch Pin
Install the 236-4340 Spacer (12). The spacer will be held in place by the 237-4916 Lip Seal (11) that is on the lower part of the structure. Install the 236-5299 Spacer (13). Install 236-4337 Pin As (14). Use three 8T-4956 Bolts (15) and three 8T-4223 Hard Washers (16) in order to install pin (14) .
Use three 8T-4956 Bolts (17) and three 8T-4223 Hard Washers (18) in order to install the 109-7317 Plate (19). Torque the bolts to 100 20 N m (75.0 15.0 lb ft).
Measure the gap between the bottom of the plate on pin (14) and the top of the boss on the frame.
Remove the three bolts
