This Program can be administered eitherbefore or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply theProgram is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS40175"as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered beforefailure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" asthe SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as theWarranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. This Revised Service Letter replacesthe April 13, 2000 (Revised June 2000) Service Letter. Changes have beenmade to the Problem, Affected Product, and Rating Selection Number Changes.TERMINATION DATE

Flash the engine control module (ECM) with theappropriate flash file software using Electronic Technician (ET), 1394166Universal Cable and a 7X1701 Communication Adapter or 1714400 Comm II AdapterGroup. Some OEM equipment may requirespecific High and Low Idle, TEL, Power Trim, and others to be set to value(s)otherthan what was shipped from the factory or as indicated in TMI. Verify theseand any settings prior to flashing the ECM through the customer configurationusing ET and with the OEM.
