Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".
Drain the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Remove bolts (1) and (3).
Disconnect fitting (4) and remove the oil level gauge (2).

Remove stud bolts (9). Remove bolts (7) and remove the oil filter base (8).

Remove engine oil cooler (10) and remove the gasket.

Disconnect hose assemblies (14). Use Tooling (A) in order to remove oil filter (15).

Remove plug (19) and remove spring (18). Remove valve (17) and remove the O-ring seal from the remove oil filter base (16). Installation Procedure
Install engine oil filter base (8) in the reverse order of removal.

Torque Sequence
Tighten bolts (7) and stud bolts (9) in the numerical sequence that is shown.
Lubricate the seal that is found on the oil filter assembly (1) with clean engine oil. Install the oil filter assembly hand tight. Tighten the oil filter assembly (1). Then, turn three quarters of a turn.
