Machine Performance Panel (MPP)The machine performance panel (MPP) is an optional attachment that monitors machine performance. When the operator changes functions on the MPP, the MPP sends a momentary ground signal to the machine monitor. The machine monitor passes this momentary ground signal to the action alarm. At this time, a short chirp is sounded by the action alarm. The short chirp indicates that the operator has changed the functions on the machine performance panel.During normal operation, output from the MPP is open. When the operator uses the keys to change functions on the MPP, the output is connected to ground for a very short time. This period of time is less than 0.5 seconds.Engine Control Module (If Equipped)
The engine control module controls the operation of the check engine light on the machine monitor. The engine control module sends a ground signal to the machine monitor. The machine monitor passes this ground signal to the check engine light and the indicator turns ON.The engine control module performs a lamp test on the check engine light when the key start switch is turned from the OFF position to the ON position. (The engine is not running.) At this time, the check engine light acts in the following manner:
ON for five seconds
OFF, momentarily only
ON for five seconds
Completely OFF If no diagnostic faults are present for the engine, the check engine light remains OFF. If a diagnostic fault for the engine is present during normal operation, the check engine light continuously flashes in the following pattern:
ON for five seconds
OFF, momentarily only

The belt tension buffer controls the belt tension control relay. During normal operation, the buffer actuates the belt tension control relay. When the belt tension system is NOT operating properly, the buffer deactivates the relay. The deactivated relay provides a path to ground for the belt tension indicator and the action alarm.The illumination of the belt tension indicator and the sounding of the action alarm notifies the operator that the pressure in the belt tensioner cylinder is not correct.An earlier buffer and a later buffer exist. The specifications that follow cover the set points (trip points) for both buffers: Earlier 105-2228 Buffer Low set point ... 1180 to 1280 kPa (171 to 186 psi) High set point ... 2690 to 2850 kPa (390 to 413 psi)Later 107-3578 Buffer Low set point ... 1131 to 1231 kPa (164 to 179 psi) High set point ... 2690 to 2850 kPa (390 to 413 psi)
