Symbol for the Hour MeterThe "Clear" switch is used in order to step through the program in Caterpillar Monitoring System. The technician should toggle the "Clear" switch as the display for the Caterpillar Monitoring System shows the symbol for the Hour Meter.The numerical code will use as many as six digits. The digits are divided into three fields with two digits in each field. For example, "22_ _01" is the sensor calibration for the lift linkage. The last two digits are for the position in the calibration.

Move away from other operating machines and away from personnel. Park the machine on a smooth, level surface. Lower the work tool to the ground. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
Connect the 4C-8195 Control Service Tool to service connector (2) .
Turn the engine start switch to the ON position.
Use the 4C-8195 Control Service Tool to enter Transmission Calibration Mode (8) by using the "MODE" switch. Toggle the "CLEAR" switch until "82_ _10" is shown on the display.
Toggle the "SCROLL" switch until "82_ _22" is shown on the display.
Enter the calibration mode for the lift linkage position sensor. Toggle the "CLEAR" switch. The display should show "22_ _02".
Set the parking brake. The display should show "22_ _03".Note: The calibration will skip steps if the conditions are already met.
Slowly raise the blade to the maximum position. Toggle the "Clear" switch. The display should show "22_ _04".
Use the tilt lever in order to level the blade. Toggle the "Clear" switch. The display should show "22_ _05".
Slowly lower the blade until the blade is firmly on the ground. Toggle the "Clear" switch. The display should show "22_ _- -". The calibration was successful.
At this time, you can toggle the "Scroll" switch in order to go to the next calibration. Toggle the "Mode" switch in order to exit out of the calibration mode.
