Description of Change: Engine software is now used in order to provide an elevated idle speed if the system battery voltage is low. The elevated idle maintains the proper battery charge level. Deep cycling of the battery is prevented. As a result, durability of the battery is improved. To activate the program, the parking brake must be on and the transmission must be in neutral. The program increases engine speed to 1100 rpm if the system voltage falls below 23.8 volts for more than 5 minutes. This is the same amount of voltage that triggers the alert for low voltage. The alert informs the operator that there is a deficiency in charging, and the idle speed will increase after 5 minutes if the voltage remains low. In order to disable the feature, you must depress the "DECEL" pedal more than 25 percent.
