Chart 1. Pivot shaft installation information for RT50, RT60, TH62, and TH63 Machines. Chart 2. Pivot shaft installation information for RT80, RT100, TH82, and TH83 Machines.
Illustration 1.1. Remove and disassemble the rotate carriage group.2. Use a carbon arc air torch or similar tool to remove fillet welds (A) and (B).3. Drive the pivot shaft out of the bore in the carrier group.4. Clean all weld spatter and slag from the bore.5. Place the new pivot shaft in the bore. Refer to Chart 1 for correct pivot shaft part number.
Illustration 2.6. Locate the pivot shaft perpendicular to the face of the carrier. Maintain dimension (H) between the face of the carrier and the first step of the pivot shaft. Locate hole (E) in the vertical position.7. Place a 13 mm (.51 in) tack weld at locations (C) and (F).8. Make sure the pivot shaft is perpendicular in both directions. Tack weld at locations (D) and (G).9. Weld the pivot shaft to the back of the carrier in location (A) with a fillet weld all around as shown in Illustration 1 and Chart 1.
