Lower the bucket so it is level on the ground and stop the engine. Move all of the control levers backward and forward to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Slowly loosen the cap to release any pressure in the hydraulic tank. Let the hydraulic oil become cool before any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
Steps 1, 2 and 6 are for multipurpose buckets only. 1. Make sure the hydraulic control levers are in the "HOLD" position and disconnect hose assemblies (2) from tube assemblies (1). Use tool (A), the O-ring seals and flanges for hose assemblies (2) as a cover for the ends of tube assemblies (1).2. See REMOVE MULTIPURPOSE BUCKET CYLINDERS for removal of the bucket cylinders. 3. If necessary, use tool (B) to clean the threads of the bucket hinge pins (3) and (4).4. Remove the bolts and nuts that hold upper hinge pins (3) and lower hinge pins (4) in position. 5. Use tooling (C) to remove the hinge pins. 6. Use tooling (D) to remove the lower hinge pins on multipurpose buckets.7. Fasten a hoist to the bucket and remove it or move the machine away from the bucket. The weight of the bucket can be from 2500 lb. (1125 kg) to 4000 lb. (1800 kg).Install Bucket
1. Fasten a hoist and put bucket (1) in position or move the machine into position behind the bucket. 2. Use tool (A) and install the four bucket hinge pins as shown. Make sure the bolt holes in the pins are in alignment with the bolt hole in the pin bosses. 3. Install bolts (2) and nuts (3) that hold the pins in position.4. Put clean grease in the fittings for the bucket hinge pins and bearings. Steps 5 and 6 are for multipurpose buckets only. 5. Remove tool (B) from the ends of tube assemblies (4). Install the O-ring seals in hose assemblies (5) and connect the hose assemblies to tube assemblies (4).6. See INSTALL MULTIPURPOSE BUCKET CYLINDERS for installation of the bucket cylinders.
