This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs.The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS52776" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
The existing filter bypass switch group can experience pin fretting on certain TH55-70 and TH55-E90 Transmissions; and 3512C Engines. The applicable warnings are "Cat Electronics Technician - Cat Data Link Event (CID - Modifier): 329-3 Transmission Oil Filter Plugged" or "J1939 (SPN - FMI): 126-0 Transmission Oil Filter Plugged". These warnings may be inaccurate and may be repeating on affected units.

Rework Procedure
Warning: Hydraulic systems may be pressurized, ensure pressure has been released before working on system.
Procedure is applicable to the Torque Converter Filter and Transmission Filter.
Disconnect 164-7577 Sensor Assembly from 308-2996 Harness Assembly.
