Information:

Remove & Install Oil Filter Housing
1. Remove three bolts (2) that hold adapter (1) to the oil filter housing. 2. Remove the five bolts (4), bolts (3) and adapter plate (5) from both ends of the filter housing. 3. Using tooling (A) and a hoist, remove eight bolts (7) and oil filter housing (6). The weight of the oil filter housing is 95 kg (210 lb). Install in reverse order, coating the O-ring seals with clean engine oil.Disassemble Oil Filter Housing
Start By:a. remove oil filter housing
Cover (1) has spring tension behind it. To prevent personal injury, remove bolts slowly and evenly.
1. Remove the three bolts and cover (1). 2. Remove retainer (2), spring (3), and O-ring seal (4) from cover (1). 3. Remove three element assemblies (5). 4. Remove O-ring seals (7).5. Remove the three bolts and bypass valve housing (6). The weight of housing (6) is 43 kg (95 lb). 6. Remove adapter (8). Remove O-ring seal (9) from the adapter. 7. Remove O-ring seal (11), and if necessary, pins (10). 8. Remove three nuts (12), the three bolts and support (13).
Cover (15) has spring tension behind it. To prevent personal injury, remove bolts (14) slowly and evenly.
9. Remove bolts (14) and (16), and covers (15) and (17). 10. Remove O-ring seals (20) and (21).11. Remove spring (19) and bypass valve (18). 12. Remove three bolts (22), cover (23) and the three O-ring seals from the housing.13. Remove O-ring seal (25), and if necessary, pin (24).Assemble Oil Filter Housing
1. Install the three O-ring seals on the face of the housing. Install cover (23) and three bolts (22).2. Install O-ring seal (25).3. If pin (24) was removed, install the new pin in the housing. Pin (24) must be 6.5 1.0 mm (.256 .040 in) above the surface of the housing. 4. Install bypass valve (18) and spring (19).5. Install O-ring seals (20) and (21). 6. Install cover (15) and (17), and bolts (14) and (16). 7. Install support (13), the three bolts and three nuts (12). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb ft). 8. Install O-ring seal (11).9. If pins (10) were removed, install the new pins in the bypass valve housing. Pins (10) must be 6.5 1.0 mm (.256 .040 in) above the surface of the bypass valve housing. 10. Install adapter (8). Install O-ring seal (9) on the adapter. Lubricate the O-ring seal lightly with clean engine oil. 11. Install bypass valve housing (6). Tighten the three bolts to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb ft).12. Install O-ring seals (7). 13. Install three element assemblies (5). 14. Install O-ring seal (4), spring (3) and retainer (2) on cover (1). 15. Install cover (1) and the three bolts.End By:a. install oil filter housing
