Remove rotating group (39) from housing (30). Carefully retain the rotating assembly (39) in housing (30). Turn the rotating assembly upside-down. Slowly lift housing (30) off rotating group (39).

Remove plate (40) and pistons (41) from barrel (42).

Remove retaining ball (43).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to compress spring (45) until the retaining ring (44) can be removed from barrel (42) with Tooling (B). Slowly release the pressure on the press because of the spring pressure. Remove barrel (42) from the press. Remove spring (45), retaining disc (46), and pressure pins (47).

Remove plug (48) and the O-ring seal.

Remove piston (49) from housing (30).
Illustration 17 g01800776Note: The rod is engaged in the socket by the edges of the socket. Extreme care must be used in order to disengage the rod from the socket. Remove the actuator rod out of the smooth shaped socket.
Angle the swashplate (50) so rod (51) extends out of the bore. Remove rod (51) from the socket in swashplate (50).

Remove swashplate (50) from housing (30). Check the condition of socket (52).

Remove spring (55).
Remove socket head screws (53) and bearing cone (54).

Lift shaft (35) out of the housing (30). If necessary, press bearing cone (54) off shaft (35).

Use Tooling (C) in order to remove retaining ring (56) from housing (30).

Remove seal (57) from housing (30). Remove O-ring seal (58).
