Installation Procedure
Start By:
Remove the machine hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
Pressurized air can cause personal injury. The air supply lines are pressurized to 830 kPa (120 psi).Purge the air from the system before performing any maintenance to the air system.
Purge the air from the air tanks.

Disconnect two hose assemblies (1) and (2) from the air dryer.

Disconnect hose assembly (3) from the air dryer.

Loosen hose clamp (4) that secures hose (5) to the air dryer. Remove hose (5) from the air dryer.

Slide boot (6) away from the air dryer. Remove nut (7) that secures wire harness (8) to the air dryer. Disconnect wire harness (8) from the air dryer.

Remove four bolts (9) and the washers that secure air dryer (10) to the radiator guard. Remove air dryer (10) from the radiator guard.Removal Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Position air dryer (10) to the radiator guard. Install four bolts (9) and the washers that secure air dryer (10) to the radiator guard.

Connect wire harness (8) to the air dryer. Install nut (7) that secures wire harness (8) to the air dryer. Slide boot (6) toward the air dryer.

Install hose (5) to the air dryer. Tighten hose clamp (4) that secures hose (5) to the air dryer.

Connect hose assembly (3) to the air dryer.
