Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the turbocharger from the exhaust manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove" for the correct procedure.

Tighten sequence of exhaust manifold
Remove bolts (2) and bolts (4) from tube assembly (1). Support the tube assembly as the bolts are removed.
Remove tube assembly (1) from exhaust manifold (6) and the exhaust gas recirculation valve.
Remove gasket (3) (not shown) and gasket (5) (not shown).
Remove exhaust temperature sensor (11) from the exhaust manifold (6). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Temperature Sensor (Exhaust) - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove banjo bolt (9) from tube assembly (12). Remove sealing washers (10).
Loosen nuts (7) in reverse numerical order. Refer to Illustration 3. Note: Loosening the bolts in reverse numerical order will help prevent distortion of the exhaust manifold.
Remove nuts (7) and remove exhaust manifold (6) from the cylinder head.
Remove exhaust manifold gasket (8) (not shown).
If necessary, remove studs (13) from the cylinder head.
If necessary, remove studs (4) from the cylinder head. Installation Procedure
Ensure that the exhaust manifold is clean and free from damage. If necessary, replace the exhaust manifold. Clean the gasket surface of the cylinder head.

If necessary, install studs (13) to the cylinder head. Tighten the stud to a torque of 18 N m (159 lb in).
Position a new exhaust manifold gasket (8) (not shown) onto studs (13). Ensure that the exhaust manifold gasket is correctly oriented.
Position exhaust manifold (6) onto studs (13).
Install nuts (7) to studs (13) finger tight. Tighten the nuts in the sequence that is shown in Illustration 6 in two stages. Tighten the nuts to an initial torque of 10 N m (89 lb in).Tighten the nuts to a final torque of 27 N m (239 lb in).
Position a new gasket (3) (not shown) and a new gasket (5) (not shown) onto tube assembly (1).
Position tube assembly (1) onto exhaust manifold (6) and the exhaust gas recirculation valve.
Install bolts (2) and bolts (4) to tube assembly (1). Support the tube assembly as the bolts are installed.
Tighten bolts (2) and bolts (4) to a torque of 25 N m (221 lb in).
Install a new sealing washer (10) to banjo bolt (9). Install the banjo bolt to tube assembly (12) and install remaining new sealing washer.
Tighten banjo bolt (9) to a torque of 15 N m (133 lb in).
Install exhaust temperature sensor (11) to the exhaust manifold (6). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Temperature Sensor (Exhaust) - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure. End By:
Install the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install" for the correct procedure.
