Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Coolant (NGEC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Remove bolts (1), disconnect elbow (2), and remove bolts (3).
Secure regulator housing assembly (6) in place, then remove bolts (5) and bracket (4). The weight of the regulator housing assembly (6) is approximately 30 kg (66 lb).
Use two people to remove regulator housing assembly (6).

Remove water temperature regulators (7) from regulator housing assembly (6).

Remove bolts (8) and bolts (10).
Remove bolts (11)
Remove regulator housing (9). Installation Procedure
Install water temperature regulators (7) in the reverse order of removal.
