All SR4 Generators Equipped With VR3 Voltage RegulatorsSome 7C2700 Voltage Control Modules have been shipped with the terminal strip marker installed in reverse. This could result in the module being incorrectly connected. As a result, the module may not operate correctly in either the "Manual" or "Automatic" modes.
If the 7C2700 Voltage Control Module does not operate correctly, a test of the module wiring to module terminal strip should be conducted.
1. Disconnect all external wiring from the module terminal strip.2. Use an ohmmeter to check continuity between terminals 20 and 21. With the module mode switch in the "Automatic" position, there should be continuity between terminals 20 and 21. With the module mode switch in either the "Manual" or "Off" positions, there should be no continuity between terminals 20 and 21.3. Use an ohmmeter to check between terminals F1 and F2 as if they were a diode. When the ohmmeter leads are connected to the terminal one way, the meter should indicate continuity. Then, reverse the ohmmeter leads and the meter should indicate resistance.If the results of Steps 1 and/or 2 are not correct, it is possible that the terminal strip marker has been installed in reverse.
