Engine News SEBD9970, 26 November 2014, "New Software Is Used on Certain C27 and C32 Tier 4 Petroleum Engines". Disregard the previous article, the software part numbers have been updated.Description of Change: The new software can elevate engine speed with either the left or the right cylinder bank turned off to increase engine load. Also, then engine speed will continue to increase until a desired temperature is met at Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) inlet or the air intake manifold. These features will become active under the following circumstances:
The work mode switch is grounded
The inlet manifold air temperature stays below a designated temperature limit for an extended period
The DOC inlet temperatures stay below a designated temperature limit for an extended periodAdaptable To: The new engine software replaces the former engine software and is adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above. Refer to Table 2 for a list of the new software part numbers, former software part numbers, and the applications that the software is used.
