Apply 345 kPa (50 psi) pressure to inlet port (1). The pinion gear should move outward. Air should escape from outlet port (2) .
Plug outlet port (2). Apply 1034 kPa (150 psi) to inlet port (1) .
Measure the distance from the face of mounting flange (3) to the face of pinion gear (4). While the pinion gear is fully extended, the distance should be 69 2 mm (2.72 0.08 inch).
Remove the pressure from inlet port (1) .
Measure the distance from the face of mounting flange (3) to the face of pinion gear (4). While the pinion gear is fully retracted, the distance should be 45 2 mm (1.77 0.08 inch).
If the dimensions are not within these specifications, replace worn parts or replace damaged parts.
