This article has been replaced by the following article.Excessive amounts of loose dust and debris can result in plugging problems on the side of a folded core radiator that is exposed to the air flow. Radiator core assemblies with multiple rows are available to convert many commercial folded core radiators. Some radiators can be upgraded to a higher ambient performance by using cores that have multiple rows of tubes.The family of commercial folded core radiators is composed of seven radiators. These radiators are often identified by the diameter of the fan and by the number of folded core assemblies. For example, "40/9" designates a radiator with a 40 inch fan and with 9 folded core assemblies.Table 1 identifies the commercial radiators by the size and by the part number. The Table also identifies the new components that are required to convert the folded core radiators to multiple row module radiators.

( 1 ) For operation in high ambient temperatures, use the 7E-7993 Radiator Core As. This change requires lengthening the side channels in order to accept longer cores.

( 4 ) In addition to the twelve 2W-5555 Straps, two brackets are needed to fasten the cores to the side of the channels. These brackets can be made by modifying 2W-7931 Brackets. Refer to Illustration 1.
( 5 ) Radiators that use the 4P-5711 Radiator Core As have approximately 3 percent higher ambient temperature capacity than the 7E-7527 Radiator .
